Google took a fair time designing its Google Analytics app, launching the first app to access GA on mobile devices in 2014. Many other apps in the app store were available using the Google Analytics API. Two years on and Google's own app was already starting to show its age, so there is now a new redesign to let you know about. You can tell the differences by comparing the new design below to the older one underneath which we alerted readers to when the app first launched.
The new app boasts a series of new features that should help you measure your website's effectiveness when on the go.
Here’s a summary of the new benefits according to Google:
- Easy access to a full overview of your Google Analytics data
- See what is happening now with real-time business data
- Go deeper into your reports with segments
- Customize your own mobile dashboard
- Easily share your insights with others
One new feature we thought was particularly cool was the fact that you can now share what you find in the app extremely easily with your colleagues, straight from mobile, as shown by the gif below.
Hope you enjoy using the new app, anything to help people use data to inform their marketing efforts is good in our book.
